A little about me - I began practicing law in and around Virginia, D.C., and Maryland over 18 years ago. My legal practice largely involves litigation - all sorts of litigation (sort of running the gamut of dispute resolution, from government contracts and debarments, to security clearances, to employment and discrimination) - and through it all I have managed to remain very interested in the intersection between law and culture. Lately, topics of particular interest increasingly intersect with areas where I advise clients: the legal landscape surrounding cannabis, litigation, and appellate litigation.

And - I know this newsletter currently has the cozy feel of a DOD office building. While I think and write about the law, I am not up to speed on ‘newsletter design.’ That is another reason to subscribe - think of it as an opportunity to watch growth … or not.

  • If confronting a situation where you believe legal counsel might be helpful, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at bbarlow@dbllawyers.com. I will do my best to help you determine whether you need an attorney and, if so, either assisting you myself or pointing you in the right direction.
